I am very pleased with the cobb accessport and the stage 1 OTS 93 octane tune. The feel of the car is much better and has a very noticeable difference in power once you hit 3K rpm. The car pulls all the way to redline, which never happened with the stock tune. The vehicles drivability is much improved and is a must have, even if you don't want to do any further modifications.
Moving onto Maperformance, I am very impressed with them on the delivery. I received the accessport three days after I ordered it, with using the basic shipping option. Every time I've called and had a question, they are very nice and reply back quickly. I emailed them about the stage 1 tune, when I received the accessport in the mail, and had the tune emailed to me in under an hour. Stage two will be coming soon. I can't wait to make future purchases with Maperformance.
The boys at MAP did a fantastic job on this tune. I bought my AP from them and from 5000km on i was rocking out their Stage 1 91/93 tune for another 20KM before moving to Stage 2. You will be amazed at how much better this tune is than the factory tune on any 15-17 WRX. It is well worth it and if you purchase an AP from MAP you can even get the tune free I believe, at least that's how I got mine and their AP price was very good. I have since moved to Stage 2 using their catted jpipe, great quality as well!
So been about 500 miles put on my 2017 WRX premium with MAPerformace stage 1 OTS 93 octane tune. here's a few of my collective thoughts on this tune. Lets start with the Great, customer service from MAPerformace is some of the best in the business ordered tune and with in a few minutes received a prompt response back from Ian for everything I needed for tune set up on accessport. Another great feature about this tune is the gas milage, on stock tune I was averaging about 20.2 miles per gallon and usually less, now with the MAPerformance im looking at 28.6 consistently. Makes me and my wallet feel better when I fill up at the pump. Now time for the good. This tune compared to the stock vehicles tune is as noticeable as day and night, vehicle went from OVER responsive and jerky, to smooth and consistent almost made me forget I had a WRX.The gas pedal like everyone says is now more linear and thank god too because the stock tune had me looking like a goonie over revving at every green light. Gas pedal feels as it finally should, have full range from slow medium and full pedal. Shifting and driving has become a breeze the vehicle feels so much smoother with this tune, however I still notice a slight revv hang in 1st and 2nd gear. This tune when it comes to the boost factor has me thankful but also a little ehhh I read the previous reviews saying that the vehicle felt faster and pulls harder.... I think thats debatable. This OTS tune really mellows out the boost and keeps it from spiking, it does give you some what power when you demand but doesn't throw you back in your seat like the stock tune did I found myself a bit disappointed about that but, considering the gas milage and preserving my turbo to last longer ill suck it up. Overall this a a pretty good tune certainly made the vehicle more comfortable for daily driving. I gave this tune a 4 star rating because I feel the cost of the tune was a bit pricy considering its an OTS for a stock vehicle. Happy travels
Def way better than the Cobb ots. Very stable and the car actually runs better/smoother. Also great customer service Ian does a great job. Def gonna be looking for stage2 from these guys. Keep up the good work!
Everything that was wrong with the stock tune (which was a ton), is now fixed with MAPerformance tune. Cobb's tune was nice at first but with this tune there is so much power up top and absolutely pulls till redline with no hesitation. Get this tune now!
Tune feels amazing compared to COBB's OTS stage 1. Pulls hard and strong all the way to red line and wants to keep going. Feels more aggressive than cobb's tune while maintaining the same gas mileage. Throttle response is linear and makes shifting/driving a breeze. I emailed Ian about receiving the tune and he instantly replied within the same minute! Best customer service there is!
MAP stage 1 OTS tune is a big improvement on COBBS' tune and even bigger on factory. Tune is smooth and stable. And, power gain is noticeable. Well, worth it!
Best bang for the bucks way better than the cobb stage 1 93 map.

No more rev hang, incredible throttle response and no more drop off of power at 5k. I'm using the 93 time and couldn't be happier. Best money I have spent on the Subie thus far. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to wake up their WRX.
Super happy with the tune. The car feels very quick and throttle is very linear, compared to stock, and much more stable than the Cobb OTS tune for me. Great job, guys!
I have the OTS stage 1 tune, it's a great tunefor eing an OTS, had the cobb ots before and the MAPerformance tune was more stable and smoothing across the rpm range. I did have some issues with knock with the cobb OTS but haven't had any iddue with the MAP OTS, looking forward to going stage 2 pretty soon
I installed the Stage 1 91 map on my 17 WRX and it's the way it should have come from the factory. Incredibly smooth tune and finally normal throttle mapping. No more rev hang either! The harder you push the gas the more power you generate as a normal car should. No knock at all that I have seen, and I've had the tune on since early September and driven it under several types of driving conditions spirited and over mountain passes. Excellent work guys! I'll be coming to you guys for stage 2 down the line.
I have a 2017 WRX with the MAPerformance Stage 1 91 Octane tune. I wanted to give the tune a try after watching several video reviews on Youtube. It has the linear throttle response, much like the COBB Stage 1 OTS tune. The tune also has the same linear power delivery but kicks it up several notches. It pulls very strong and throws me back in the seat!
On the OTS tune, my peak boost was ~18 PSI. On the MAPerformance tune, my peak boost is ~20 PSI and it maintains boost more consistently throughout the rev range. Feedback Knock and Fine Knock Learning have stayed at 0; DAM holds at 1 both in stop and go traffic (hot day, A/C on) and during pulls.
I would recommend this tune if you plan on keeping the engine's stock components, but want more power. It is significantly stronger than the COBB Stage 1 OTS. Customer service is great! I placed my order at 7 AM and had my tune e-mailed to me before 12 noon.
Everyone has said everything possible about this OTS tune but more never hurts. For clarification, I have a 2017 Subaru WRX and have been waiting anxiously for months for Cobb to release the firmware for the my17 WRX. Well that day finally came a few weeks ago and I finally pulled the trigger and got the accessport and OTS tune from MAP. The accessport is nothing short of what you'd expect from Cobb. Now the tune is AWESOME. Don't even bother with the Cobb stage one tune, the MAP tune is 838461759952x better than stock. The shifts are smoother and easier, the pedal isn't full throttle at 25% anymore, the powerband is linear and pulls all the way to redline, knock is gone from the stock tune, blah blah blah blah blah. All you need to know is that you NEED this OTS tune because it'll make you smile and the butt dyno is better than your girlfriend (or boyfriend). Thanks MAPerfirmance!!
Love how the jerking and touchy throttle is gone. Car is so much easier to drive now. The extra power in the top end is also a big plus. I now don't feel bad about revving past 5k rpms because it has power up there now! This is how a car should drive. Customer service is also top notch. Thanks maperformance for making my car so much more fun and easy to drive!
Seen MA Performance YouTube page just randomly looking at 2016 WRX's videos as its addicting watching them as driving them and i stumbled upon Ian reviewing the Cobb Accessport. It soon lead me to their pro tune which i felt skeptical at first but figured with such positive comments in their YouTube review i figured ill shoot them an email. Once contacted the response was quick and easy! Within a few hours i managed to get the courage and bought the tune. Service Was BEYOND EXCEPTIONAL!!!!! I went to Install MA Performance Stage 1 tune on my access port and as soon as i went to do some pull's i was able to build more boost more quickly. Not only was the improvement in power noticeable, so was the comfort sitting in 5 o'clock traffic. MA Performance tune Has completely exiled the the Jerky blotch from stock forum and still manage to be noticeably smoother then what Cobb stage one had to offer. I already love the tune and cant wait until i take this for more spirited driving

So much hidden power compared to that horrible factory tune (c'mon Subaru!!!!!!) But I can feel that intake and exhaust will really wake this flat four up. Stage 2 coming to a subie near you :)

Seems like once the ecu is flashed the tune becomes progressively better as you drive for a bit. Initially it felt OK, but after an hour or so i realized the powerband had shifted...instead of short shifting at 5k rpm because power died i found myself shifting around 6800rpm. And the rpm's do come quick! Feels much nicer than stock. Boost also seems to peak 22 to 24psi for a longer duration compared to stock. Monitoring my DAM, knock feedback and fine knock i have only seen a maximum of 4 reported on fine knock and feedback using 4th gear from an uphill dig ( i wanted to induce knock). On normal full throttle usage i see a report of 1.41 on fine knock during hot 90 degree days...well within norm. DAM has never moved. Keep your engine in the happy zone boosting above 3300rpm and knock is non existent on. Digging from low rpm in higher gears seems to induce some knock and that seems to be the same with the stock tune.

I have spent the last week running the Cobb 93 stage one tune and absolutely love it compared to the stock tune. No herky jerky, it's smooth like butter. And watching the tach climb almost instantly kept a smile on my face. Here a couple of hours ago and a half personal day from work I have this MAP tune flashed to the car. I have now maxed out my boost gauge and the main thing going through my head is "weeeeee". I highly recommend MAP tuning and they also have great customer service! BIg shout out to Ian :) Frankenstein is out of the box!
