While full ball bearing performance tubochargers have their place, we realize they are not for everyone. Because of this, Blouch Performance Turbo has developed billet "XT" compressor aero specifically for our Subaru journal bearing customers - hence the new 20G-XT. These new 20G-XT compressor wheels really are a work of art: stronger yet lighter closed die forged aluminum alloy combined with state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machining allows for tweaking the aero for even greater mass flow and efficiency from a given geometry.
But they are not all looksies - they really perform: the 20G-XT produces greater peak torque and peak horsepower when compared to the "old" 20G at the same boost pressure! Now that truly is bolt-on performance! But the performance gains do not stop there - BPT has developed a proprietary high flow low inertia turbine wheel and shaft assy. that performs extremely well with the 20G-XT aero. And BPT is offering three (3) Subaru turbine housing options to tailor the 20G-XT to your specific application: 7cm2, 8cm2 and 10cm2 and a 3" bellmouth inlet option. It's a great turbo and has lots of potential. Looking forward to actually getting everything out of it after my build next week. There was a concern on the turbine housing with a piece of casting not removed next to the wastegate but blouch said they would replace the turbine housing even though it would not affect the performance. MAP customer service handled the situation very well which is why I will continue to shop with them. Some of their prices are high and I could've got this same exact turbo for $100 less but some things are with it. The only nit pick is I asked for a new oil feed line when he asked if I wanted one and I did not receive it.
Turbo arrived well packaged and protected. While my engine was being rebuilt, I had the shop install the turbo so can't comment on fitment. Power wise, more than happy with the results.
