The stock turbo heat shield does its job, but it's designed around the OEM downpipe. Swap that pipe and the factory shield either won't clear or has to be butchered to fit. The OVERTAKE EJ Turbo Heatshield, engineered for the WRX, STI, Forester XT, Outback XT, and Legacy GT, solves this with 304 stainless steel construction, CNC-formed to fit OEM and most aftermarket downpipes without cutting, drilling, or compromising coverage. Grade 10.9 hardware is included so you're not reusing stressed fasteners. Factory should have built it this way.
