2008-2021 Subaru WRX STI / 2008-2014 Subaru WRX Downpipe Upgrade by MAPerformance
When the turbo compresses exhaust gas, its forced through a narrow OEM downpipe on its way through your exhaust system. This narrow pipe creates back pressure & reduces exhaust flow leaving your car short of its true power potential. MAPerformance has crafted the perfect solution to unleash this power and is proudly offering it to the eager 15+ Subaru STI market.
Designed to last a lifetime, the MAPerformance Subaru Downpipes are available with a high flow catalytic converter.
Built in-house from 3" mandrel bent 304SS piping our semi-divided head pipe maximizes exhaust flow and helps to eliminate unwanted boost creep. Utilizing a thick 1/2" stainless steel turbo outlet flange, high-quality interlocking lined stainless steel flex section and sporting an additional O2 bung, this STI downpipe has been designed to outperform & outlast our competitor's offerings at a price point that won't break the bank.
Mating our MAPerformance Subaru WRX / STI Downpipe to an OEM factory exhaust or aftermarket exhaust is a breeze. Simply select the option you'd like in the drop downs above and we will include all the necessary hardware.
Disclaimer: As sound level and emissions laws vary based on location, please consult your local authorities for additional information.
Please Note: Some aftermarket internally gated turbochargers such as the Cobb 20G, and the Forced Performance Green, MAY have contact with the flapper against the downpipe. This can be remedied via end user modification with the warranty in tact within reasonable evidence. See our Wastegate Porting Guide. Further instruction can be supplied to affected customers upon request.

Great downpipe
I’m running the MAPerformance high-flow catted downpipe on my 2018 STI and overall the quality is solid. Welds look good, materials feel premium, and it’s clearly well-built compared to a lot of cheaper options out there.
That said, if you’re pairing this with an X500R turbo (internal wastegate), don’t expect it to be a direct bolt-on. It does not fit without modification. I had to do some tweaking to get everything to line up properly.
One of the bigger issues was the internal divider for the wastegate. It was making contact, so I had to clearance it, (remove) it to get proper fitment. Something to be aware of if you’re running this setup.
Fitment is tight in general with the X500R. I also ran into clearance issues around the transmission crossmember, and the downpipe bracket needed to be modified so it wasn’t putting stress on the exhaust. Nothing crazy if you’re used to working on these cars, but definitely not plug-and-play with the X500R.
Bottom line: great quality downpipe, but if you’re running an X500R, be ready to do some minor fabrication and clearancing to make it work correctly.

Awsome
High quality part, priced fair, arrived super fast
The over all construction is great. When running the system OEM turbo. Today I drove three hours on a base MAP to the dyno just to find out that the Wastegate flapper on my newly installed Cobb 20G is hitting the piece in the middle not allowing it to fully open under boost. MAPerformance, I ask that further testing be done with different aftermarket turbos. And list the compatible turbos or add a disclaimer
