MAP SPEC Built 2.0L Longblock - Stage 1.5 | 2008-2015 Mitsubishi Evo X (EVOX-20MSSLB-S1.5)

I wouldn’t recommend this engine especially for the price it’s at when you look at other shops and competitors. I got this engine with the intention of going full send because when I asked what the engine is rated for I was told 800 which was good enough for me long story short I spent and arm and a leg and got a full top mount turbo kit and all the bells and whistles and my car made 721 to the wheels and it lasted a total of 6 months because despite them going through everything to build the engine including getting the CSS they still used standard ARP head studs and my car lifted a head at 33 pounds of boost. Which you would think this engine is capable of more. This is with religiously and meticulously maintaining the vehicle changing the oil every two thousand miles and changing the plugs every four thousand miles. Granted I did a magnus exhaust mivec delete that did not compromise the engine as they said it was a cause of the tune (tuned by chagtuned one of the best in the business) or a fueling issue such as my injectors. As I said I am highly dissatisfied and disappointed.

I bought this MAPerformance stage 1.5 long block a long while back. Still holding strong with dual full-time walbro 450 HPs, ID1300xds, and a Gen2 GTX3576R2 on flex fuel. It's been reliable against all odds with an OEM-like setup making more horses than the Livermore Rodeo. Burns a little oil (about .5 qts every 1000 miles or so) but that's probably par for the course. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the engine I received. Thanks MAP.

No complaints here, best investment after my stock engine starting knocking at 156k miles. Thanks MAP for this affordable engine. Lets just say my setup is nice. Time to clean up the bay...

After my stock Evo X engine decided to opt for the panoramic view(3” hole behind the starter), I decided to just have MAP do a spec build on a new longblock. I couldn’t be happier. Everything is assembled well, showed up in one piece, and was done in a timely manor. I’m very satisfied. Thanks again MAP!
Side note: It is not advertised on the website, but if you want this stage one longblock to be able to handle a little extra power, ask them to do a half sleeved longblock(hence the title saying stage 1.5). It’s cheaper than the full sleeve stage 2 and will still handle more than enough power for whatever you want to throw at it. This is exactly what I was looking for.

I ordered this engine due to the fact that it had everything I need to hit my hp goals in a prebuilt long block. Installed engine, primed oil pump, and fired vehicle up without issue. Performed initial cam break in procedure with break in oil, drained and refilled with new break in oil. Currently performing the 500 mile engine break in procedure. Engine sounds great and runs like a top. Looking forward to getting it tuned and seeing what this build is capable of! Shipping was quick, questions answered in a timely manner.
