The All New 2022 WRX

To paint or not to paint.

The new WRX has brought up a lot of controversy in the community thanks in big part to Subaru's interesting design choice. Unpainted fenders and all, we've been eagerly awaiting ours to see just how it stacks up to the previous generation.

Aside from the obvious exterior changes, the interior feels like a familiar place, with the addition of a Tesla-sized screen. Although most people won't complain as it was once a place the prior generation was lacking. As for the driving experience, it's still a fun car to drive, like all WRX's, but seems to be missing that something special. While on the surface this can be perceived as a bad thing, it's what we're most excited about. Just how much more special can we make this car feel with the addition of some MAPerformance parts.

Baseline Numbers

How the car feels to drive is the most important aspect of any car but when it comes to performance parts we also need to see what kind of power they can make. Bragging right's never hurt either. With that in mind, we drove our car straight from the dealership and onto our dyno. After strapping the car down and doing a couple of pulls we are able to get a best of 235whp. With our baseline in hand, it was time to get the car scanned and start developing parts. Stay tuned for the next blog post to keep up to date on our development of the 2022 WRX!
