Support, Style and Safety

Want more support when you're cornering? Want more style when your car's parked? Recaro seats may be the answer.

Since they started making seats for Porsche back in the '60's Recaro has become a byword for performance seating. If your car is quick through the turns, Recaros will help you navigate them faster. And if your car's interior needs more pizzazz, yes, look for Recaros.

Here on the MAPerformance website you'll find Recaro tuning seats that deliver both style and lateral g support. Installation is straightforward, and if you want advice we're always happy to talk.

Tuning Seats: Sporting and Practical Too

With headrests integrated into the seatbacks Recaro tuning seats look much like the racing shells the company is famed for. They have belt pass-throughs that work with 4-point harnesses and substantial bolsters so you won't slide sideways when cornering. Here's where they differ though:

  • Adjustable backrests (something you won’t find on FIA-approved racing shells!)
  • Seat back release mechanism for rear seat access. (Also not FIA-approved.)
  • Optionally, flatter seat cushions for easier entrance and egress
  • Left and right-hand variants available

The Recaro Range of Tuning Seats

Recaro makes four models of tuning seat. You can see them on our website, but to save time here's an overview

Sportster/Cross Sportster

These feature a thin polymer molded backrest with Recaro's proprietary lumbar support technology. You can get them upholstered in vinyl, a vinyl/suede combination, cloth and leather, (all in black,) and heating is available.

Cross Sportster seats are the same as the regular Sportsters except for less aggressive bolstering on the cushion. (They don't look quite as cool but you and your passenger can retain some dignity when climbing out.)

Speed/Speed S

These come upholstered in black cloth, black suede or black vinyl. There's also an option of vinyl with non-slip inserts (but still black.) What makes these seats distinctive is the colored stitching that extends to the Recaro logo emblazoned on the headrest. You can get this in red, white or blue and it looks very smart.

Speed V

Essentially the same as the Speed seats, these deserve their own subheading because they look so cool. Speed V seats come with a suede backrest and seat cushion insert that's shaped like a series of very broad Vees. (Hence the name, presumably.) Then, inserted between each V is a sliver of red, blue, gray or yellow. It makes for a dramatic yet understated effect that looks good in any car.

Sportster GT

These seats will give your car some serious performance cred. They're derived from the racing Sportster CS series, and boy, do they look the part! An ultra-thin polmer backrest helps minimize mass, (these babies weigh just 33lbs,) while still providing the impressive Recaro ergonomics. What really distinguishes these seats though is the red, black, blue, gray or carbon weave upholstery. Not only will they keep you safe but they’ll look amazing while your car is parked.
