The factory engine mapping produces a noticeable drop in power at around 4,500 RPM. This power reduction is noticeable in both horsepower and torque. By redesigning the air intake tract and producing a smoother, less turbulent airflow that smooths out the power band and reduces the effect of this dramatic drop.
The intake is a mandrel-bent black powder-coated aluminum tube and is compatible with the factory air ducting for straightforward installation. The intake tube comes with a Quality STILLEN steel-washable oil filter that can be cleaned regularly. Further tailoring this intake for street use is the fact that it uses the factory mass air flow sensor wire harness location, so there isn't any issue with the factory computer throwing a check engine light code.
