16oz Universal Black Oil Catch Can by Mishimoto

Mishimoto has developed an oil catch can to make sure you're getting the most out of your performance parts. Over time harmful oil will build up inside the turbocharger, intake manifold, intercooler and piping. A Mishimoto Oil Catch Can will prevent this from happening while its all black finish will add a touch of style to your engine bay.

An oil catch can serves other important purposes as well. It will prevent oil from getting into pressurized turbo plumbing, which can lead to couplers coming off under boost. Oil vapors can get into the intake system which will lower combustion temperatures and reduce overall efficiency. A Mishimoto Oil Catch Can will solve all these problems and give you the added security knowing that your performance parts are safe from harmful oil. Our catch cans are different from most air-oil-separator (AOS) systems on a few levels. First, our catch cans are not heated. This means that all of the blow-by is able to condense in the can, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors. Most AOS systems also drain the blow-by back into the oil pan, while our catch cans trap the blow-by and keep it out of the engine permanently. If you’ve seen what we’ve seen in the bottom of our catch cans, you won’t want that draining back into your oil either.

Good for track use

For everyone looking to get a good catch can setup, but doesn't want to spend big bucks on a specific car part this universal kit is a perfect option. I installed it on a NA Miata and is working wonders. The only thing that people shoud take in consideration are the hoses as your pcv hoses could be a different size. Everything else worked as it should.

Recommend universal kit.

The Mishimoto catch can came recommend by guys in our club who track their cars. This is a universal kit, so there is some modifying involved to fit in the FT -86 engine bay. The website only instructions are not very clear, but this is a simple thing. I used the stock line from the rear of the engine block and turned it to face the batter location. I cut that line and used a 3-8"- 1/2" line splice from Autozone to connect the clear lines that come with the kit. The catch can was mounted to a L-bracket from Lowe's which is clamped down by the battery hold down. The return line goes straight into the intake. It took about 40 minutes in total including modifying the bracket.
