Where we have already improved on other components for speed, we turned to the longevity of the sporty Civic with our Aluminum Expansion Tank.
The Mishimoto 2017+ Honda Civic Type R Aluminum Expansion Tank removes the conspicuously beige stock tank from the FK8’s engine bay, replacing it with a sleek all-aluminum design that looks more at home under the hood. With the option of matching the Rallye Red or going with a stealthy black micro-wrinkle finish, there's room to add some personal style.
Where the plastic tank is great for mass production, it’s destined to fail with repeated heating and cooling cycles. Our expansion tank will remove any worries about retaining your coolant, as it can stand up to the Civic Type R's oven of an engine bay. We have incorporated internal baffling within our tank to keep your coolant level during aggressive driving. The Mishimoto Aluminum Expansion Tank also includes a sight glass for quick visibility on fluid levels, and is covered under the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty for a worry-free install.

Please Note: After a few hot and cold cycles, Mishimoto recommends checking the sight tube on the side of the expansion tank to confirm proper coolant level.

Recently got the Rallye Red tank quality is great and gets rid of the ugly beige plastic tank that sticks out like a sore thumb the wrinkle red aluminum tank matches and fits in among the other components and mods under my hood install is super easy took about 10-15 minutes sucked coolant out of stock tank with a little hand pump and swapped it out and refilled the tank with Amsoil Dominator coolant boost and distilled water to add a little better cooling ability to the system with the new tank, coolant boost, and I’d guess more like a 65/35 water to coolant mix im getting about 10 degrees lower coolant temps and faster warmup.

Still on STOCK tune eventually will tune my R when I feel it's necessary!
Shipping from MAP was very fast always amazing customer service I have no complaints ! Install took maybe 25 mins it's super easy ! I did not use the splash guard method instead used a Siphon tool to dispose the old Coolant! Than added new coolant after install using a funnel !
