I've had my 2012 WRX hatchback since new in 2012. My first exhaust was the Invidia Q300, loved it. Wanted something different 4 years later, and traded for the SPT exhaust. It was okay, buy the sound of the N1 is what I have been looking all these years. The silencer is a bonus for those long trips.
I love the sound that the N1 makes, it is deep and growly. Really brings out the Subie Rumble.
As for installation, let me make a few notes....
I have a Curt trailer hitch for my hitch mount bike carrier. It was only after taking off the old exhaust and trying to mount the N1 that I found that the standard hangers did not work. So, I purchased 3 kartboy XL hangers, changed out the 3 stock ones and boom, it fit. It is a tight fit, but it fits. From what I've heard, the longer hangers are recommended anyway, because of the possibility of melting your bumper. So, GET THE LONGER HANGERS!
I also mounted this to my existing stock downpipe and Cat with the 2.5 to 3 in adapter, but did not realize that I needed to get a new donut gasket, so grab one of those while your are at it!
Other than the rusted bolts I had to grind off, it was a super simple installation and in the end the sound is amazing!
