Kind of blew a lot of money on the his. Yes it lowered intake temps but I felt lack of power from the restricted air flow and it cuts out the sounds we all love. I chopped off the long part that goes behind the head light, sealed it and cut off the cool side wall. Works good now but that's what I ripped out for this intake
Intake is pretty well built and a good OEM replacement. Don’t waste your money on a set of intercooler pipes because a hard lower pipe will not clear the air box (see attached pic, using Cobb IC pipes for reference). Stick with OEM lower IC Pipe and only upgrade the top pipe if you’re going to run this intake.
Switched my intake to this from the Cobb intake with velocity stack. The induction sound has definitely decreased since then, but my intake temperature has significantly dropped. I can also run without the rain guards now which is nice. At idle temp is about 10 degrees off from the outside temp. 5 degrees off around 0-60 and anywhere up it was only about a degree off from outside temp. Only confusing thing was the extra nipple, I just connected one to my EBC and then capped the second vacuum fitting.
I just want to say with the installation of this intake maperformance investment cast manifold 3071r gen2 turbo and a set of cams and all the right supporting mods I was able to lay down 480hp along with my tq being in the 4s on e85. The car runs all day everyday reving to 8000 reliably no issues. Oh I forgot to mention I can go out of state with it and use it for what it was meant for transportation. Thanks again map for your excellence service.
Intake looks as good or better than OE parts. It even says Evolution on it which is silly but I dig that. Will have to remove to front bumper cover to install, and instructions call for cutting the radiator cover plate piece. Apart from having to cut an OE part to fit this, it's awesome. Will definitely help me meet my goals with better IAT's for more consistent charge of air at lower temps. As people have mentioned, the expectation is that the turbo wooshes are pretty much not a thing after installing this like with an OEM airbox.
