Our top priorities for the 2022 WRX intake design were ease of installation and aesthetics as we had already proven the effectiveness of the MAF housing and inlet pipe on the 2015 WRX. The new systems utilizes a similar roto-molded inlet pipe and coupler ast the 2015 intake with a slightly adjusted clip-together cast MAF housing.

This clips system allows the MAF housing to seat in the right position with the intake airbox. With this design it should allow the OEM front snorkel to be installed and removed with the use of just two push pins on the cowl trim. Our aim with this is to make engine bay dress-up components much easier to install and work together with our dress-up kit also in development. Additionally, this allows the air filter to be serviced in the same fashion as the OEM intake.

Extra caution was taken in designing the bracket system to hold the MAF housing in place to ensure that nothing will rub in the engine bay once it has been installed. With the end goal of matching the OE level exterior styling, we designed the airbox to match the lines of the front end to carry through into the engine bay. As with all our product developments, let us know your thoughts or if there is anything different you would like to see. Stay tuned for further updates!
