Our blankets are made of protective wire mesh, insulated fiberglass layers, and an external crushed volcanic rock layer. The Subaru blanket fits all OEM Subaru turbos, as well most small frame externally gated turbos.

I’ve been researching different options for a turbo shield on my 2019 STI, and came across the lava blankets. Torque Solution has the best price point for this and I had to pick one up. I didn’t care about the color of it, so I got the coyote/dark tan blanket.
At first, this blanket did not want to fit around the 2019 turbo, as it’s obviously larger than a wrx turbo. There is not a cutout for the actuator, but this blanket is very forgiving and you can move it as you please. Tying it down was something of a challenge, as there really isn’t a lot of room to work, so I did my best to tie it together onto the turbo exhaust side housing.
Overall, it does exactly what I needed it to do. Traps the heat in and it exits through the exhaust. Love the product!
