It’s time to turn up the heat on your hot-Honda with the Mishimoto Performance Intake Kit for your 2017+ Honda Civic Type R. For starters, we ditched the turbulence-generating, accordion-styled intake hose and replaced it with 5 layers of silicone embedded with heat-resistant fibers. On top of strengthening the intake boot, we’ve also made sure to increase the diameter and smooth out the interior, which greatly assists the overall 42% increase in flow throughout the full system.
The other contributing factors to our air flow increase are our precision-adjusted MAF housing and improved airbox. We started by separating the two, and then redesigning the MAF housing to ensure an increased flow while maintaining safe fuel trim perimeters. The result is a setup that can run on the stock tune without any hassle from the check engine light. Our airbox grew in size to accommodate our freer flowing filter, and retains the factory rubber snorkel securing the dedicated intake channel incorporated into the CTR’s hood. Combining these improvements unlocks a max gain of 16.7 whp and 20.1 wtq from your 2.0T.
The stealth black color scheme retains an OEM+ look to your Type R’s engine bay, and as with all our products, the Mishimoto Honda Civic Type R Performance Intake Kit includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.

Have had my 2017 CTR for a little over a month. The intake was first on my list of upgrades. Installing was very simple. The Mishimoto install video helps a little but if you have basic mechanic knowledge you don't really need the video to install. Took about 30 min to install. I can feel and hear the change in airflow. Maperformance was incredibly quick to ship and super responsive throughout the entire process. I will definitely be using them for any other upgrades I do in the future.

Apparently there were a couple minor changes for 2019 that aren’t mentioned in the video install guide (wtf do I have to cut a worm clamp off for Honda?? Possible security bolt so they know the intake has been tampered with?) and Mishimoto’s bag sealing machine apparently broke the day mine was made because I was greeted by a bunch of loose hardware flying everywhere when I opened the box to the point where I thought they just threw everything loose into the shipping box until I found the bag with the non sealed seal. Minor complai ts though, the product is built as good as stock and fits perfectly. No real performance gain after the first few pulls on the stock tune but it sounds phenomenal. All the turbo suck and blowoff valve noise you will ever need while maintaining the stock cold air inlet. Gives the car the sound it should have had stock. Shipping and install quirks aside it’s as good as aftermarket stuff gets.
