When thinking about the FK8 Type-R, its hard to think of many things that need to be changed. Right out of the box its a competent track machine and daily driver. However, as with most things in life, there is always room for improvement. The intake is one of those things that can be just that much better.

Knowing that Honda meticulously designed the routing of the air through the front bumper, we had to incorporate it into our intake. Increasing the opening of our intake box not only allowed for maximum airflow and one of the largest cone filters available, it also brings out all those good turbo noises. With a cast MAF housing designed for maximum efficiency and a rotomolded airbox, our MAPerformance FK8 Intake is everything you need that wasn’t included from the factory. Description

The MAPerformance Honda Type-R FK8 intake system is the result of extensive design iteration through dyno testing and flow analysis. We developed a system that maintains low air inlet temperatures that allow your turbo to get all of the crisp cool air it deserves. The massive 6.5" K&N intake filter sits safely shielded away from hot air in a high quality rotomolded air box which utilizes the factory style seal against the hood. The cast aluminum intake pipe features a built in velocity stack to allow the air to flow smoothly and efficiently. All these features allow you to achieve power gains, steady temperatures, increased throttle response, and beautiful induction noise. This intake system is easy to install and is backed by our MAP Lifetime Warranty.
