4G64 Evo Race Balance Shaft Elimination Kit
Our MAPerformance 4G63T/4G64 Race Balance Shaft Elim Kit (BSE) was developed as an alternative solution for our customers that are concerned about premature oil pump wear when using the standard "stub shaft" balance shaft elimination kits. To create this Balance Shaft Race Eliminator Kit we remove the counterweight portion of your factory DSM or Evo, 4G63 or 4G64 balance shaft (no core required) using our CNC lathe. During this machining process we leave the rear journal of your balance shaft intact, this provides the additional support for your engines oil pump gears to ensure you do not experience any premature wear. This Mitsubishi BSE kit is comprised of only the highest quality replacemtn parts including a block off plate, replacement ACL balance shaft bearings, and the bolt for your balance shaft pulley (Not pictured) so you have evreything required for the installation. A balance shaft pulley "delete spacer" is also available as an option for $7 more.

The easy answer would be "because I said so". But since many of you want something a bit more technical I will list out some of the advantages of removing the balance shaft in a Mitsu 4G63 or 4G64 engine as well as some of the draw backs below.

Pros:

*Removing the balance shaft will increase your engines oil pressure *Potentially free up some power though eliminating rotating mass *Help your engine rev quicker *One less belt to worry about breaking and getting caught in the timing belt

Cons:

*A tiny bit of vibration that can barely be felt. Keep in mind this vibration was always there and is not caused by the balance shaft removal, it's now able to be felt more inside the car however. *Installation can be tricky. Many people only install Race Balance Shaft Eliminator Kits when they're going through an engine build or already have the engine removed as it makes the installation process much easier.
