Dual Oil Catch Can Kit by Radium Engineering
The Dual Catch Can Kit features both the crankcase catch can kit and PCV catch can kit merged into one. The Crankcase Catch Can Kits install immediately behind the LH headlight and plumbs in-line with the crankcase vent hose. This is the hose that connects from the port on the valve cover to the turbo air intake pipe. The PCV Catch Can Kit installs immediately behind the RH headlight and plumbs in-line with the PCV hose.
During low engine loads, the crankcase vent hose experiences atmospheric pressure, but when the engine is at high load (WOT), this hose will experience vacuum and would normally be drawing unwanted crankcase vapors, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the air filter intake pipe, turbocharger compressor, etc. For instance. if you are finding oil accumulation stuck in the intercooler, this catch can is a necessity. Oil coating the inside of the intercooler will lower the thermal efficiency of the intercooler.
When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV "check" valve closes and, thus, this hose experiences no flow. Conversely, the PCV hose will experience "metered" vacuum when the engine is idling, steady state cruising, and decelerating. This would normally draw unwanted crankcase vapor, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run. Note: Because Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, they are great for boosted applications as well so connecting to the intake manifold is permitted and will withstand any boost level.

Setup was easy and straight forward with online install instruction. Double check fitment with standard mounts before buying the alternate location bracket. I have an AMS 3" intake and with the alternate bracket, there was absolutely no installing the crankcase can. Ended up just using the standard bracket and turning the fittings.
These Catch Cans make your Engine Bay look serious, Had them for a couple of months now, and they're doing their job greatly.
Every 5,000 miles i empty them and find oil residue in them, which harm your engine.
Great quality and product, comes with everything required for the installation.
I must say, the install was easy and the parts were of very high quality.
It seems to have cured the smoke out of my tailpipes that started to occur after installing a 7163 kit. I wish I'd known in advance that this is what was necessary to negate the smoke.
I had to purchase the alternate bracket due to my ETS Intake, and I would suggest that in pretty much any aftermarket intake case you'll need the alternate bracket. It was pretty impossible to get the lower bolt in, so it's just running one today.
I purchased these catch cans because the fit and finish looked superior to others on the market. I was not disappointed! As a mechanical engineer I am a bit of a perfectionist and can appreciate the efforts Radium has taken to manufacturer such a quality piece. I would rank this item at 4.5 stars for great fit, finish, and quality. The only reason they are not a 5 star is due to cost.
