MAP GT-R Catback Exhaust | 2009-2015 Nissan GT-R

Purchased the 3.5" catback system. Shipping was fast. Ended up having to install on raceramps.

Stock catback removal tip; remove the exhaust tips and the exhaust hanger mount bolts and the OEM catback will drop down vs. having to tilt it (which you'll need to have a lift for clearance).

Everything fit fine, though the MAPerf unit hangers are very loose as others stated.

I mated this to catless downpipes and a 3.5" ypipe. Off throttle its quieter than stock, but with any throttle at all its loud AF in the cabin and resonates. Thankfully you can cruise without drone. I love the deeper tone that it adds, and the aggressive sound under throttle. Certainly an improvement over OEM.

Performance wise, I can't say yet. Still on my winter tank of gas and need to get e85. Throttle response seems to have improved, but I haven't driven the car for 5 months, so of course it feels insanely fast.

The build quality of this exhaust is great. Had a little difficult installing where the vband connects together. Where the exhaust connects through the vbands did not sit flush fully. Had to modify the vbands for it to connect together. The exhaust hangers could be a little bit thicker so it does not hang on the hangers freely.

High quality materials and welds. Perfect fitment. If you have 3.5" downpipes and 3.5" y-pipe, this is the exhaust to buy. Made the inside of my car quieter and the outside sound like a monster.

The absolute best mod ever! From an ultraquiet vacuum cleaner, to super car status! Perfect!!!!!!!!

My goal was to reduce backpressure without increasing exhaust noise, the stock catback on my car was a bit annoying at cruise with a mid pitched drone. My car already had Cobb Down Pipes and Mid Pipe with a Borla Resonator. I read everything I could find about aftermarket catback systems and listened to lots of sound clips trying to decide what to buy.

Several of the local GT-Rs also helped eliminate some options

Nismo 3.5" unmuffled = pretty loud Sounds excellent but would probably draw too much attention for a daily.
SBD 4" Race = holy shit thats loud!! The sound is amazing on this, just not for a daily driver WAY too loud!
I also talked to a local with a Meisterschaft it sounded great - but again, just much louder than I wanted!

As I already had DP and Mid-Pipe I was looking for just a cat-back system. The HKS Legamax was in the running, but its smaller diameter kept me from buying it. I kept looking at the ARMYTRIX for the best of all worlds but my cc squeaked every time I looked at their web site!

I finally settled on the MAP 3.5" stainless muffled version to match the diameter of my Cobb Mid Pipe.

Shipping was quick
the tig welds look good
the brackets have extra bracing with extra long welds on both sides of the rod for strength
Fitment was good - no drama with rubbing or rattles. I did have to loosen and re-tighten the V-Band and front flange bolts a couple times to get it to mate flush, but once in the right position fit as expected.
And the best part is the sound. The 3.5" pipe dropped the note much lower than the stock exhaust. I also see that my fuel trims say It is now flowing more air than the stock exhaust!

The end result was exactly what I wanted, less drone and overall cabin noise AND better flow. I did some before/after measurements using Androsensor App on my Galaxy S9 phone.
