Honda L15B7 Headstud Kit by MAPerformance
In our many years of building high horsepower low displacement 4 Cylinders, we have always found that one of the biggest needs to keep the engines running well is superior head to block sealing, and there is no better option than ARP headstuds. There is not currently a kit for the L15B7, so utilizing some ARP hardware, along with our own spacers we have made a kit that will work for ours and others needs.
ARP uses premium grade 8740 alloy that is heat treated to 200,000 p.s.i. This procedure ensures complete heat penetration and the results are far superior to those lesser quality studs from other manufacturers who just dump pieces in a basket and hope for the best.
Following heat treat, each stud is centerless ground to make it as close to perfectly concentric as possible. This procedure involves about ten very slight cuts and results in an exceptionally straight part.
ARP studs are thread rolled after heat treat which gives them about 1000% better fatigue strength than studs that are threaded prior to heat treat (a very common industry practice). It costs more to do it this way because it's tough on tooling but the results are well worth the extra effort.

These studs are almost as much of a stud as I am. So that means…… yeah THEYRE THE ISH!!!! MAP is straight up GOD complex STATUS. Which is Gucci, with a splash of boooogie. My little L15b7 is stomping on M4’s now. Well. Up until 120. Then the m4 gearing pulls away, and I get a free diner to gapplebees BUT…. Man. That’s a 1.5 lol pulling on an m4 for a pretty good amount of time. I guess this is the product of having god himself tune your fuel tables ;) MAPERFORMANCE 4 LYFEEEEEEE
If you’re running ANY …. Boost pressure above stock, this is needed. Better safe than sorry. I had only a cold air intake on my SI, and the phearable of the shelf tune, and after putting around 17-20k miles on the car, ( barely even beat on it ) the head lifted. Honda could NOT. Figure out the issue; and at the time, I didn’t know about this head lift issue…. So needless to say, Months went by…. Honda said cars fine … LOL, we don’t know what it can be…. I guess a Honda tech didn’t even think this notorious well known issue was a possibility. Anyways…. So I finally figure out the issue, after throwing money, replacing coil packs, spark plugs, cleaning the cold air intake and MAF, just anything that could cause the car to drive like garbage. If I told you how I found out it was the head gasket, you wouldn’t believe me. Regardless. Found out, went back to Honda like “ aUmmm hey??? I’m still under warranty and have after market, can we fix this ? So here I am thinking cool! They’re gonna replace the head gasket. I drove the car like that for months ….. we’ll long story short, I got an entire motor swap. So as I mod further. These I KNEW. I needed. It’s super soon to tell, but they were installed correctly, and after the clutch is replaced. We should be GUCCI. The was another site that had these with out the extender washers, but they didn’t use pay pal. So oh well.
A pretty easy installation if you got the time. Never had any issues with my head gasket after installation. Going on 2 years strong!
