Fuel Pumps and Install Kits
If you want your engine to make a lot of power, then you’ll need a lot of fuel. Stock fuel pumps often simply can’t pump fuel to the engine fast enough to fully take advantage of new exhaust systems, intakes, turbochargers and other aftermarket parts. In these cases, your car will run about as well as it did when it was stock — talk about wasted upgrades. Adding a high-performance fuel pump from Modern Automotive Performance will feed your engine the gasoline or ethanol it needs to create maximum horsepower. There are also OEM fuel pumps if you just need to replace a worn-out part without breaking the bank.
Our selection of universal and model-specific high flow pumps gives our customers plenty of options for their car. In-line performance fuel pumps are a simple, inexpensive solution that works in tandem with your stock pump. However, you may experience engine sagging while accelerating at lower fuel levels. An in-tank high-volume fuel pump is more difficult to install but will give you a larger cruising range to unleash the beast within. Either way, you’ll suddenly have the power you’ve been looking for. Both in-line and in-tank pumps come in several designs and flow ratings so you can pick one that won’t leave the air-fuel mixture too lean or too rich.
Modern Automotive Performance has dozens of fuel pumps from Walbro, Bosch Motorsports, AEM, Torque Solution and other companies who know an engine needs to be fed. Most come with installation hardware, but if they don’t, make sure you grab a fuel pump assembly kit so you’re not stuck trying to put square pegs in round holes. We’ve also created some of our own install kits and paired them with high-quality fuel pumps based on testing done in our shop. The crew has felt what a lack of fuel can do many times, and we’ll help you get the go-juice flowing with great products and better prices.
