The HKS Legamax Premium Cat-back Exhaust for the new 2017+ Civic Type R is the very first in their complete product lineup!
This exhaust increases piping diameter in each stage, making it a 3-inch main pipe to dual 2.4-inch pipes into the mufflers and finally out of dual 3.8-inch Burnt Titanium Tips. Overall the exhaust reduces back-pressure by 50%, this allows the turbine to spin more freely from a low RPM and improves overall power and response across the power-band.
This exhaust system has been engineered and designed to handle up to 540 ps (532 HP) without any power loss, so it's great for high power builds. It also features a dual muffler and small resonator that is guaranteed to provide zero drone for deep throaty note while still having a comfortable ride.

Easy install and great fitment. Right after install, it was a little bit drone-y around 2500-3000 rpm on the highway, but after 1000 miles it has either broken in or I've gotten used to it. Not terribly loud but the sound itself is deep and throat-y, as much as an FK8 can sound that way.

First must say Maperformance did an outstanding job to get this to me so quickly. Everything went smoothly and will definitely buy from here again. As far as the exhaust goes.. Well I've been around doing this since the 90s and now a days i don't like super loud exhaust and heard this was good fit. Cant compare to others but drove off after install and couldn't even tell it was installed. It's too quiet with a mellow sound on low RPMs. Will look into changing it in the future, nothing compare to my old 9th gen civic Q300. If you looking for HKS Legamax just keep in mind its not much louder then stock. Overall very disappointed.
