Perfect OEM Replacement

Bought this for my 2014 WRXs clutch and throwout bearing and had my local Subaru specialists install it. Kit came with everything needed to install (also did the rear main seal) and arrived in 1 business day from MAP. As for the product, it is the perfect OE style replacement for my car. The pedal feel was very light after the install, and the grab point is a bit higher up in the travel of the pedal. That is starting to change as time goes on (still in break in period) and becoming more firm. Car feels nice an smooth transferring power between the engine and transmission. I have stage 2 bolt ons and have not noticed any slipping or power transfer issues as of yet. I was originally going to get a stage 2 clutch to match, but my mechanic mentioned the heavier duty clutches tend to put more strain on the firewalls, which are already weak due to spot welds on these cars. Glad I went with this Exedy!

Solid purchase

Everything was good quality. I downgraded from a stage 1 exedy clutch, I’m very happy with the feel and fitment of this. The grease provided was minimal, grab some extra, don’t be shy with grease and cleaning.

Good OEM replacement

Just got the clutch in and when I opened it the quality is way better and much more better than OEM clutch. I can’t wait to install it in my car! Thanks MAPerformance!

Better than factory

I installed this clutch almost 2 years ago and have about 25,000 miles on it. Which is about how long the original clutch lasted. My immediate reaction was that it felt so much smoother and quieter than original. Certainly grabbed harder than original. Pretty good if your stock or stage 1. It hasn’t started slipping yet but it grabs higher than when first installed. My suggestions would be to get something a little beefier if you’re going to do a good amount of mods but not a bad clutch at all. The install was one of the biggest pains I’ve ever gone through but worth it. I noticed pretty much no lube on the trans input shaft where the throw out bearing sits and that’s probably why the replacement was smoother. Pay attention to where everything came from when removing and don’t force anything. I ended up bending a rod on the shift cable which made it much harder to get into 5th 6th and reverse and eventually replaced the one cable/rod. Honestly if you have access to a engine lift, you might be better off pulling the motor instead of the trans. Just be prepared to replace the turbo studs where the jpipe mounts which shouldn’t be too bad with the motor out. Also replace the motor mounts and maybe spark plugs while you’re in there as both suck to replace with the motor in. Overall a good value and ordering from MAP was painless as always. Thanks again guys! You never let me down!
