HP Plus Performance Brake Pads by Hawk

Hawk Performance’s HP Plus brake pad compound is ideal for Autocross and Track Day drivers looking for a high performance race compound that can take the heat of the track and get you home safely without having to change the pads.

HP Plus utilizes a unique Ferro-Carbon, high-tech friction material that was developed and manufactured for sport driving in autocross, Solo II and “track day” applications. The Ferro-Carbon formulation offers lower wear rates and higher torque values than other competitive materials.

Extremely high coefficient of friction makes HP Plus the perfect upgrade over stock for high performance streetcars used in autocross competition or that experience repetitive, heavy braking.

Great Pads w/ Baggage (Noise and Dust)

2009 WRX - Built/E85 - DD and Weekend Track

So, if you are in the market for these Brake Pads then Noise and Dust should not be a concern. They are great for track (what I use them for). They are great for AutoX. They are great for slowing down while Drag Racing. They are great at grabbing a lot of attention while DD and turning your wheels black. Yes, there is a good amount of dust and noise that come from these pads. So you need to ask yourself what are you going to use them for? If they are your track pads and you swap to something else for your DD you will be fine. If you are less intelligent like I am, then you will DD with these as well as run the track. I have ZERO issues with the performance of these pads. They are fantastic and do everything that I require of them. I never got brake fade on the track and they always keep me from rear ending anyone in traffic (or other DD activities), making road kill and preventing tickets from the cops. However, they like to squeak. It seemed to get worse after my first track day... which wasn't too long after they were put on my car. I also clean my wheels a lot more now. My wheels tend to get dirty before my car in the summer. However, if I didn't want this I could have picked up a different product like the HPS pads. I chose performance over looks. However, I think I will be in the market to pick up some DD pads from MAP this summer.
