Subaru makes major announcement about BRZ STi
Posted on 19 February 2014
We're still waiting on that BRZ STi. Will it ever happen?
Remember that awesome looking Subaru BRZ STi that you saw at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show? Remember thinking how cool it would be to have a factory Turbocharged BRZ in your garage? Did you get excited thinking about what mods you'd do to the car if you ever got the keys to one? Did you debate with your buddies about the BRZ STi price?
Well, sorry to burst your bubble but Subaru will not be producing a Turbocharged BRZ STi. Instead, the car will be getting some attractive exterior modifications to sate your appetite. Such mods include a new front lip spoiler, distinctive BRZ STi wheels, and the trademark STi badging. Subaru
has hinted at a new rear wing and the possibility of new side skirts. But that is it. Nothing more under the hood.
The BRZ STi was originally rumored to have a more powerful engine topping out at 250hp as well as improved handling via WRX STi inspiring chassis upgrades. However, those features have been denied by Subaru and they have confirmed that no power of handling upgrades will be present.
