Past experiences with local machine shops gave us the realization that while they could perform many of the tasks we contracted them for correctly there were often areas in which they would pursue short-cuts or compromise quality in an effort to get the project done faster. This realization prompted us to purchase our own machining equipment, hire a talented engine machinist, and perform these services on site so that we have more control over quality standard as well as timeframes.
ResurfacingWe have a resurfacing machine that provides a superior RA, or finish, on both cast and aluminum blocks and heads which is crucial for proper head gasket sealing in modern engines. Ours uses the CBN cutters and provides a superior finish to the older, multi-cutter systems that many shops still use.
Boring and HoningOur Boring and honing process is setup to provide a superior bore finish with tight tolerances in mind. We are able to provide tolerances within tenths of thousandths, not half thousandths like many shops do. We do this while still providing a superior finish for the ultimate in ring sealing and ring lift.
Valve Jobs and Guide ReplacementFor our cylinder head machining we utilize a Serdi 3.0 seat and guide machine that, when combined with our proprietary cutters, yields some of the industries finest valve jobs. Every head is vacuum checked after each seat is cut to ensure proper sealing.
Engine and cylinder head assembly is performed in a clean room with strict attention to detail using some of the best components available. Oil clearance, piston to wall clearance, torque specs, and more are documented in our short block blueprinting process, and cylinder head services include setting valve stem installed height, last adjustment, and more. We are also more than capable of assembling into long block form if desired.
