FA20 Air Oil Seperator by Killer B Motorsports

The goal of this product is simple. To function as its Air/Oil Separator description implies: the removal of oil, in liquid or vapor form, from the vented crankcase gasses. Simple in premise, but function wise there’s a bit more to it. Varying oil droplet sizes, with differing pressure and velocity conditions. Different engines with varying venting characteristics or a street car vs a track or performance elevated engine.

The Killer B Motorsport Air/Oil Separator functions with a vacuum source only, the turbo inlet. This provides the vacuum source for the crankcase. It is in no way effected by the turbo size, in fact a larger turbo that draws more air will improved separator function, compensating for increased venting requirements seen at improved performance levels.

Features

  • Accelerated flow of blow-by gasses forces suspended oil droplets out of suspension. Centrifugal filtration is a proven process for separation of many particle types and sizes. The application in automotive applications has mostly been in use with high dollar sports cars and racecars.
  • Collected oil drains back into the crankcase where it belongs.
  • Applies vacuum to the crankcase improving ring seal, reducing oil consumption and improving power potential.
  • No media to clean/replaces or baffles to inhibit crankcase flow
  • Made of billet and TIG welded 6061-T6 Aluminum
  • Killer B Motorsport push-lock barb fittings require no hose clamps

  • 2015 - 2017 Subaru WRX FA20

Peace of mind and reliability

Great quality and easy install compared to other options. I chose the Killer B over the other AOS available because of price and ease of install. Instructions were somewhat hard to understand at first but once I got the intercooler off, most of it made sense. Definitely order the hose kit with the AOS. The cost is easily justified to avoid the headaches of getting the right hoses, clamps and then having to measure. Make sure you take your time routing the hoses or they’ll look crappy and make the install harder. I check the turbo inlet hose for oil every now and then and so far it’s dry. I haven’t checked out the inside of the AOS but my oil is never low so I’d imagine it’s doing its job

Great product, bad install

First off it’s beautiful and I really enjoy the peace of mind, the install is very difficult, I had a 2018 wrx and they did some refreshes with the engine, the breather line for instance is not longer a clamp it’s a weird fitting that requires prying apart with a skewed river and hammer(there is a seam on it at the very forward spot) secondly the instruction don’t have any arrows or real info to ensure you’re pulling the right lines, I suggest not doing this unless you have some skill or a lot of time. All in all awesome product but terrible instructions.

Awesome!!

The KillerB Air Oil Separator is absolutely awesome, I love the fitment, and the finish is gorgeous; the majority of compliments I receive about the engine bay of my car are regarding how fantastic the AOS looks. I've had no issues so far, and I've seen zero oil consumption at all. Amazing product!

Great product, fairly easy install

Install was decently easy given I have never removed the intercooler or worked near the turbo on this vehicle before. Instructions do not come in the box, but can be found on Killer B's website. With regards to the driver's side PCV connection; if you have MY17 and up, there is now a quick connect on the hose instead of a simple hose clamp. This must be rotated toward the passenger side to remove. Unfortunately, it will likely break. You can remove the rest of the quick connect by simply removing the retaining spring. This will allow you fit the hose over the connection and tighten it down. I have not been able to find a part# for the quick release to replace it. If you want to get everything you need for the install, get the complete kit. It adds cost to the part, but hoses are very durable and cut to the right lengths. You could save a good bit of money procuring the hoses and clamps yourself however, if you choose.

disapointed

Unit itself is beautiful...would have givin it 5 stars but only came with 2 mounting bolts no hoses or fittings to tie into existing hose...for 500.00 i would expect everything i need to completely install
