Modern Automotive Performance Proving Grounds 2013

Competition Clutch Presents Proving Grounds, the Midwest’s #1 automotive weekend event with over 5,000 enthusiasts in attendance. Proving Grounds is an annual event held by MAPerformance that includes a multitude of events such as drifting, drag racing, autox, time attack, burnout competition, dyno shootout, and even a car show. This racing event is tailored to both experienced and novice drivers alike however, in the previous years there has been an exponential growth in the number of spectators.

This year we bring you not only one, but two Proving Grounds race events. The first event PG2013.1 is scheduled for June 21-23 2013 followed by the second event PG2013.2 is being help September 6th-8th 2013. Although it’s not fair to compare this event to others I think it’s safe to mention somethings that help differentiate us from events like IFO, IDRC, King Of The Streets or even MIR World Cup Finals. Mainly the variety of racing that takes place, the grass roots atmosphere and the nightlife!  BIR allows racers and spectators to camp on site and we have found attendees really embrace the race all day party all night mentality. This event attracts car enthusiasts from all across the US and Canada as never dissapoints. We’re proud to continually grow this event each and every year and in the future we plan to keep the racers costs low while increasing the entertainment for spectators. New events for 2013.1 are a Free Style Burn Out Competition and Dyno Shootout, the sights and sounds of which are sure to please the massive crowds that fill the grandstands.

Proving Grounds is held at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd MN – Home of the Fastest and Flattest 1/4 mile drag strip in the United States. This great facility allows for us to run multiple different flavors of race events all simultaneously. While we have tons of imports and domestic “modern muscle” heads up drag racers battling down the 1320, we also have standing start lapping / road racing on the 2.5mi competition course & both amateur and advanced tandem drifting being judged on the Pro Pad.  Here’s a peak at the track layouts just to show you how massive this event truly is.
