2015 Subaru WRX STi Cold Air Intake by AEM

AEM Cold Air Intake Systems are designed to produce horsepower and torque gains. They replace the restrictive factory airbox and air filter to give you better performance and better engine sound. AEM cold air intakes relocate the air filter outside the engine compartment so cooler air can be fed into your engine. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber for more horsepower and torque.

AEM Cold Air Intakes include an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration, and performance while allowing easy oil-free cleaning. They include a mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube and high quality hardware designed to reduce restriction and reduce intake temperature. The design and components of each intake system vary so consult the installation instructions for more information on the contents of each part number. This Air Intake cannot be sold in California. It is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards.

Maximum gain of 32 hp @ 5400 RPM and increased in torque of 31 lb-ft @ 5400 RPM.

Design requirements for this intake were simple: The intake must not only be safe for the engine, but perform well both with and without tuning. The intake must be able to be installed quickly, without removal of the bumper. The intake must produce horsepower and torque gains throughout the RPM range, not just on the top end. Justification for the first is obvious, we want you to be able to bolt it on and go, without worrying about your air-fuel ratios and engine safety. Justification for the second came after installing other intakes, only to have our front bumper never fit the same way again. A little research showed that this was a common issue. Yuck.

In true GrimmSpeed fashion, no corners were cut in the fabrication of each and every one of these intakes. The airbox is laser cut, CNC bent, riveted together and threaded inserts are installed before the entire assembly receives a heavy duty black wrinkle powdercoat. MAF flanges are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and the intake tube is fabricated from custom bent tubing, made specifically for our application, to provide the perfect MAF diameter. The air straightener is laser cut from the same 6061 material and tumbled before the entire assembly is TIG welded by our expert welders. After welding, each tube is inspected and ported as needed to ensure maximum performance.

The Perrin High-Flow Fuel rails are designed to deliver large amounts of fuel equally to each cylinder. Consumers running big horsepower that require large injectors will notice the car runs smoother and is more powerful and tuners can safely push the engine closer to the edge.

*HOSE*
Fuel rails feature large 3/8” inside diameter fuel injection hose which provides higher flow rate than competitive systems. This hose is large enough to support 800+ WHP. Included hose is a DOT approved, rubber fuel injection hose with proper liners for zero emissions. A byproduct of the hose being constructed of rubber is that it helps dampen the fuel against pressure waves and, in turn, creates a smoother and more constant fuel pressure.

*FLEXGUARD COVER*
Flexguard is a high abrasion strength and heat resistant woven ballistic nylon that helps protects your hose from wearing during vehicle operation. Designed for use in applications up to 260 degrees F continuous and treated with heat and flame resistant coating. This is a style of hose cover that is used on race cars around the world.

*OETIKER CLAMPS*
High-Flow Fuel Rails include stainless steel lined Oetiker clamps. Oetiker clamps have a secure fit since there are no gaps in the band which creates a better seal; their clamping mechanism will not loosen over time like traditional worm drive clamps. They are also much easier to install with one squeeze of the Oetiker crimping tool.
