Modern Automotive Performance

AEM’s performance front strut bar for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X tie the tops of the struts together to reduce strut movement in extreme conditions. It is constructed from 1 1/2 inch steel tubing, providing great strength and and low weight.

Contrary to popular opinion, a strut tower bar is not under compression during hard cornering. During a maximum-effort turn, the strut on the outside of the turn actually is pulled out from the center of the car, not pushed toward the middle. It’s only under severe downforce caused, say, by a pothole, that the two towers try to get closer together. Either way, the result is the same: vague, wobbly handling under hard cornering as the camber changes randomly. Long-term the consequences are more profound: fatigue cracking of the chassis in the strut tower area. Add a strut tower brace, or upgrade your OEM brace with this welded steel brace from AEM. You’ll feel an immediate improvement in cornering precision. And you won’t feel the struts coming adrift in the engine bay as you go over a speed bump a little too fast. Installation is easy, and all hardware is included. AEM warrants that its Strut Tower Bars will last for the life of your vehicle.

New MAP Ultimate Duty H11 Head Studs for the Mitsubishi Evolution X

Consider these an insurance policy for your head gasket…

If you’re looking to make big power but don’t like the idea of lifting your cylinder head and replacing head gaskets frequently these are exactly what you need! These studs are manufactured specifically for us by A1 Technologies and utilize an H11 material that is much stronger than the typical 8740 chromoly and yields a tensile strength of 260,000 psi. They are also provisioned with a hex broach on the top of the stud enabling you to install them with the cylinder head on the car if necessary.

What is so different about these head studs?

The MAP Ultimate Duty Head Studs include an additional feature known as a “dog point” (shown below) that seats the stud in the block and preloads the fastener for an accurate and repeatable torque sequence.

Competition Clutch has released a revised twin disc for the Mitsubishi Evo. This kit has permanently replaced the older/lighter variant Twin Disc that was being sold. This revised assembly had weight added to achieve the proper moment of inertia; which resulted in better street manners while still allowing 10K RPM shifts with ease.
