After three separate 1-2 hour dyno sessions (customer cars come first and late night tuning is not looked upon kindly around here) we have reached a power level that we feel will be adequate as we continue our quest for an 8 second pass in our 3000lb street legal Evo 8. In the process we have set the bar pretty high for the stock ECU horsepower record I realize that some of the information below is identical to that of our previous post, but we simply cannot say enough about the stock ECU developers and our sponsors that made this a reality!

It’s been a long journey, but I believe we’ve reclaimed the highest horsepower stock ECU record We don’t expect this to last long as we’ve got some stiff competition out there, but this was only 37psi and although its cliche, there’s a lot left in it We’ll be out at BIR this weekend to see what she can do (albeit on stock suspension and street tires for now), yet another reason to attend our Proving Grounds event!

With mother nature fighting us yet again, last Saturday we hosted another dyno day at our shop in Plymouth.  Rain or shine, people wanted to know what there car was making.  A big thanks to everyone that made it, and we will cross our fingers that we can get weather to cooperate sooner or later.  Here are the results…

MAPerformance CTS-V goes on the bottle…

It was time to get Adam’s CTS-V back on the dyno.  He added long tube headers, and a custom intake, and wanted to make sure everything was ready for the next mod…

396 / 387

And time for the bottle…

494 / 514

But the truth is that Adam has a sickness, and there is already talks of large jets to get him over the 500whp mark.

You may recognize this Evo from our previous blog posts.  It was dropped off to us for a 2.3L motor build, some head work and a new turbo.  Everything has been completed, and this customer got a daily  driver that will bring a smile to his face every time he drives it.  The customers goal was good power, with the potential to go higher as he adds some last upgrades and that’s exactly what he got.

509 / 464 / 26 psi

———————————————————————–

I would like to address some concerns that I have seen popping up on our new format of "High Speed Autox." Yes this will still be run on the 2.5 mile competition road course. The main difference that you will see between the Time Attack format and High Speed Autox is that instead of doing a chunk of 5 laps (1 warm up, 3 flying, and 1 cool down) it will be one lap at a time. This will allow us to utilize the experience of the Central Wisconsin Sports Car Club / Fox Valley Sports Car Club along with their timing equipment in a familiar format that is certain to be a success. Please feel free to express further concerns or ask questions. I follow these topics closely in the forums, or feel free to e-mail me at blake@maperformance.com.
