The MAP EVO X Lower Intercooler Pipe is a significant upgrade over the factory GSR or MR (USDM and JDM) intercooler pipe. It is designed to be a one piece unit to avoid having to use excess couplers, and to have the smoothest transition from the intercooler to the throttle body. It also incorporates a bracket to hold the lower radiator hose just like the factory pipe. It requires no modification for install and can be completed in under 2 hours.

It took some elbow grease, but after finally getting the intercooler piping fitted to the intercooler and throttle body, I thought I was done with the hard part. Unfortunately, I hit a snag with how to get the OEM BOV located in the OEM location near the back of the engine bay plumbed to the new intercooler pipe's blow off port since the OEM rubber piping was too small for the intercooler's blow off port. Pic included.
After contacting MAP's super helpful customer service, I was instructed to relocate the factory BOV to the front of the engine bay, using the newly supplied tube to connect the blow off port to the BOV, and trimming the OEM rubber hose to get the outlet of the BOV back to the intake's recirc port. Additionally, since the BOV was relocated to the front of the engine bay, I also needed to plumb the vacuum port of the BOV directly to the intake manifold, skipping the OEM hard tube manifold that it was originally connected to. End result (albeit with an aftermarket BOV) attached.
After all that and fixing some self-inflicted boost leaks, I've never felt better knowing that my charge piping wasn't dependent on 10-year old rubber holding together.

Overall it's a really nice piece. This is no surprise though. MAP has never let me down with any of their products so I didn't expect anything less with their lower intercooler pipe. I'm glad it's a one piece vs two. Not sure why other brands go with a two piece other than making fitment a little easier. Having said that, I had no issues installing this to a 3.5" AMS intercooler. The install was easy. My only wish is to have a longer coupler for the pipe to intercooler. Maybe because the intercooler isn't stock? You can see in the pic how much more space there is to fit a longer coupler up to the end tank of the intercooler. The coupler still fits so that's good. The t-clamps are nice too. 11mm vs some of the smaller, less robust couplers out there. Thanks for another great product MAP!
Oh and one thing to note. If you do not have a stock bypass valve then the coupler provided may not fit. It's a little large for my GFB Respons bov. It still seems to clamp on just fine.
